What Just Happened explores the week in the life of a person through their photos, offering another way to tell a story.

Patrick Hoelck is an American photographer known for his work in advertising, his music videos, and his Polaroids. He recently launched a mobile app version of his book Polaroid Hotel, which also features some Instagram-esque filters that let you turn your own pictures into Polaroid-style shots. During the week he chronicled for What Just Happened, Hoelck spent some documenting model Ash Tabor lounging around in a kimono, photographer and filmmaker Samantha Hunter climbing on things in Chinatown (which was her idea, according to Hoelck), and Rosetta Getty hanging out with her daughter June. He then added in some sketches, painted images, and stickers, which he describes as “things I do daily to stay out of my head.”
