Jason “Jay Shells” Shelowitz is a creative jack-of-all-trades, if you will. Dabbling in all sorts of  artistic mediums—from acrylic, to spray paint, to graphic design, to silk screening—Jason’s artistic expression knows no boundaries, even if that sometimes means breaking the law.

Back in March, Jay decided to embark on his newest street project—Rap Quotes—adding some additional traffic signs to the NYC landscape. But rather than instructing pedestrians, his custom-made pieces are stamped with hip-hop lyrics referencing specific New York City neighborhoods and strategically placed at said cross-streets. No borough was left untouched.

So in celebration of the wealth of MCs that rep Harlem, FRANK enlisted Jay to spruce up the grid between 110th and 145th with a few bars from Harlem’s finest.
